How Often Should You Water Indoor Plants?

Overwatering is the #1 reason indoor plants struggle.

Golden rule: Don’t water on a schedule — water when the soil is dry.

Insert your finger 3–5 cm into the soil.

If dry → water. If moist → wait.

🌿 The Best Indoor Plants for Beginners (Hard to Kill Plants)

Snake Plant

It's incredibly hands-off and easy to care for. Give it medium to bright indirect light for fast growth, but it will tolerate low light levels too. Let it dry out completely between waterings.

Pothos

One of the most forgiving plants you can buy, they grows quickly when given bright light but they incredibly tolerant of low light, making it an excellent low-maintenance plant for beginners.

ZZ Plant

Tough as nails and not picky, the ZZ plant can handle low to bright indirect light. This low-maintenance plant also doesn't mind a missed watering and prefers to be mostly dry before you give it a good, long drink.

Monstera

A monstera is everyone's r favorite tropical plant that good looks. It can tolerate low light, but it looks better (and grows faster) in medium to high indirect light. Water it when the top inch of soil is dry.
